Homelessness in Atlanta – a VOX Media Cafe Interactive Package

by share

Has the United States failed people who are homeless? What are the causes of this problem in Atlanta? Who is affected by this problem? And what can we do to change it?

Four teens from VOX Media Cafe set off to find out.

Terell Wright, eighth grader at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy; Serenity Lewis, who will be 13 in August; Maya Martin, a senior at W.D. Mohammed High School; and Adam Stuckey a senior at McEachern High School worked together at VOX Media Cafe to ask questions — and report their findings in an interactive multimedia package.

They reported on reasons for homelessness in the U.S., including unemployment, disabilities — including mental illness — domestic violence, and more. And the team created a video and online quiz.
